A Page 20 Retraction

After months (years) of collaborating with all its media cohorts (New York Times, Newsweek, Boston Globe, SF Chronicle, etc) with front page headlines attacking President Bush and Vice President Cheney's credibility, the Washington Post has issued a....

PAGE T-W-E-N-T-Y, short briefing to say:

"It follows that one of the most sensational charges leveled against the Bush White House -- that it orchestrated the leak of Ms. Plame's identity to ruin her career and thus punish Mr. Wilson -- is".....

DRUMROLL Please...

"UNTRUE".

They add this kicker:

"It now appears that the person most responsible for the end of Ms. Plame's CIA career is Mr. Wilson."

Now the Post seems to "so many people" at the end of the article, seemingly implying 'not them'. Ok, if that's the case, then run loud and clear on your front pages. It seems to be quite an amazing scoop of a story to come out and say George W. Bush and Cheney weren't instrumental in this thing. An extraordinary story at that.

Page 20. Figures. If someone has time to count how many front page stories the Post has run on this saga with the Bush is guilty mantra it would be most interesting to know.
